Sterilization methods: Heat, radiation, and electron beam
Sterilization methods: Heat, radiation, and electron beam
Sterilization methods: Heat, radiation, and electron beam

About the Course

Introduction to this course:

This course will explain the five types of sterilization methods used in life sciences: heat sterilization (wet and dry), radiation sterilization (gamma radiation and UV light), and electron beam sterilization. Filtration sterilization and chemical sterilization will be explored in another course.

Who should attend:

This course is designed for professionals involved in pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare professionals, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and drug development. It is also beneficial for anyone involved in the production, validation, and maintenance of sterile medical devices.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Recall key principles of heat, radiation, and electron beam sterilization.

  • Explain the mechanisms behind each sterilization method.

  • Implement appropriate sterilization techniques for different materials.

What will I gain:

Participants will gain knowledge to effectively sterilize medical and pharmaceutical products, enhancing safety and quality assurance processes.

Prerequisites:

Prerequisites for this course include a basic understanding of microbiology and chemistry fundamentals.
